Samsung continued to invest in foldable phone technology and introduced the latest Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 on TELUS 5G network. With new software that takes advantage of its foldable design, as well as better low-light photography, improved cameras, and a bigger battery, the Galaxy Z Flip4 shows Samsung’s efforts to popularize foldable phones again.

Samsung isn’t new to the market of foldable TELUS phones, as evidenced by their previous Galaxy Z Flip models. However, according to market research estimates, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 could well be the most popular foldable phone Samsung has released.

Galaxy Z Flip4 Display and Design

With its ‘clamshell’ design, the Z Flip4 turns into a block once you fold it in half, making it a lot easier to carry around. Samsung has also revealed that you can fold the phone at least 20,000 times without damaging it.

The Z Flip4 weighs at around 187g, making it light enough for easy carry. When unfolded, it measures 165.2 x 71.9 x 6.9mm, and 84.9 x 71.9 x 15.9mm once folded. The phone also has a 426-pixel-per-inch display and is supported by HDR10+.

You can also make the phone go up to 1,200 nits of brightness. Not to mention, it has up to 120Hz of variable refresh rate.

The outside of the Z Flip4 has a cover screen measuring 1.9 inches where you can perform minimal tasks. You can take selfies, for instance, and the viewfinder instantly shows up on the cover screen. It also lets you choose between aspect ratios so you can line up your shots perfectly.

Other tasks you can do with the cover screen include using SmartThings to control your smart home, paying with Samsung Wallet, adjusting phone settings, viewing notifications, and responding to text messages.

The Z Flip4 comes in colors: Graphite, Blue Shades, Bora Purple, and Pink Gold. It also has a Bespoke Edition that allows you to mix and match colors.

Galaxy Z Flip4 Cameras and Battery

The Galaxy Samsung Z Flip4 has two back cameras: a 12MP main camera and an ultra-wide camera. It also has a 10MP front camera for taking high-quality selfies.

When you fold the phone in half, you can activate the ‘Flex Cam’ mode. This way, you can prop up your folded phone and take pictures from a lot more angles than is possible on other phones.

Recording videos also becomes a lot easier. You open the main screen to record and then exit the display without interrupting it.

The battery is also a huge improvement from the previous model, with its 3,7000mAh power pack that’s 300mAh more than the Z Flip 3 battery pack. Samsung also says that this increase in battery capacity allows you to use the phone for three hours longer than before.

It also charges a lot quicker than the previous models with a 25W power adapter. This specific adapter can charge the phone up to 50% within thirty minutes.

You could also choose to charge your Z Flip4 wirelessly using a 15W Qi charger.

Power and Features

With its 4nm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset that can run up to 3.2GHz, the Z Flip4 is the most powerful among Samsung Galaxy’s foldable TELUS phones.  It’s able to provide plenty of processing power so video editing and gaming can be done a lot more smoothly.

It also has 8GB RAM, as well as storage options of 128GB, 256GB, and 512 GB. The Z Flip 4 also has 5G support and stereo speakers. Besides that, it has a fingerprint scanner mounted on the side of the phone.

One specific feature of the Z Flip4 that gives it an advantage is that it allows you to use both halves separately, allowing you to work on multiple tasks at once.

The Flex Mode turns on once the phone is tilted from 75 to 115 degrees. The screen then splits into two and a second window opens, adding functionality to several apps such as Google Meet, Netflix, WhatsApp, and YouTube.
